About

Buck Way Ranch is founded by Billy Peterson, a former All-American Futurity Winner. Billy was going through a difficult time with his health when he decided to go for a run one day with his wife, Heather. While on the run, they happened to see a married couple riding horses in the mountains. Billy had been so dedicated to his career as a Certified Financial Planner than he had strayed away from his roots. He looked at Heather and said he realized in that moment what would help him gain his health back. The answer was horses. He had been involved with horses his entire life and loved them with all his heart. While raising a family and growing a business, he forgot about that passion. Shortly after that day in the mountains, Billy and Heather began building Buck Way Ranch. They sold their cabin on Buck Way Road in Heber, UT, which lead to the name Buck Way Ranch. Billy has also given this same passion to his son Cade, who represents Buck Way Ranch as well. The goal and purpose of Buck Way Ranch is to breed and raise fast horses. All-American Futurity 1995

Billy's dream as a kid was to win the All-American Futurity. He fed that dream by watching the great movie "Casey's Shadow" hundreds of times. He found himself in the same position in 1994 where his dreams were coming true. The result was tragic as he went down with the horse as he broke his front legs. Struggling to find the will to continue, he eventually got back on the saddle and found himself back in the same race in 1995 aboard Winalota Cash. The rest is history.
